VEGASPOKERSTARS COMSome Poker Sites Remain Open For US CustomersA lot of American online poker players were shocked to learn October 2 that they were no longer allowed to play in their favorite poker websites, like PartyGaming, 888.com and Titan Poker, to name a few. A bill that passed through the congress Sept 29 seeks to put a stop to online poker through the enforcement of a coding system that would bar transactions between online gambling companies and financial institutions. In light of the bill that is expected to be signed into law very soon, many big online poker sites have already left the US market. One such company is the industry leaderm Partypoker, which commands almost 50 percent of the US market. Partypoker and many other gambling sites are traded publicly on the London Stock Exchange and thus had no choice but to abandon the US Market to appease their shareholders. Privately owned companies do not suffer the burden to do so. Gambling911.com has been keeping track of the online gambling ban's progress and has compiled a lit of poker sites that are still accepting US based customers. Some of these sites are Mansion poker, Doyle Brunson Poker, Pamela Poker, and CanBet Poker. "Poker lovers will continue to play online and we want to ensure them that there are still plenty of online poker rooms whose doors are open for US business," said Christopher Costigan, Founder of Gambling911.com. "The 100,000 plus member strong Poker Players Alliance along with Gambling911.com is just one of hundreds of venues that will be fighting for poker players rights to play online." |
